Habitat: Full sun; prefers light, moderately dry soil. Surface sow or to no more than 1/8" deep. Plants can get almost six feet tall, so plant in an area where height is not a concern, and tie up or stake, as they can get so heavy that they bend. Birds (finches in particular) love Cosmos seed, so leave the plants standing over the winter rather than cutting them down.
