Calculations

Calculations for power availability (watts/hour) on a full charge:

Assumption #1: The battery will be drained to 60% of capacity after 5 hours time.

37.8 amp * hours / 5 hours = 7.56 amps (current)
7.56 amps * 12 volts = 90.72 watts (power)
7.56 amps * 12 volts * 5 hours = 453.5 watt * hours = 0.4535 kWh

We can only draw 40% of the total power in order to save the life-span of the battery:

453.5  watt * hours * 0.4 = 181.4  watt * hours (energy)

But the inverter is only 80%-90% efficient!

181.4 watt * hours  * 0.8 = 145.12 watt * hours = 0.14512 kWh

Over 5 hours time that provides us how many watts per hour?

145.12 watt * hours / 5 hours = 29.024 watts

Calculations for battery recharge time in full sun:

How many watt-hours have we used?  The loss of power in the inverter must be considered, so...

181.44 watt * hours

How many watts per hour can my solar cell provide?

2 amps * 12 volts = 24 watts
181.44 watt * hours / 24 watts =
7.56 hours (Energy/Power = Time)
