Partridge Pea -- Cassia fasciculata Family Leguminosae (Legume family) This small flower is found on plants that commonly grow in the underbrush in dry soil in fields and at the edge of wooded areas. Flowers are found in small axillary clusters. The leaves of this plant are slightly sensitive to touch and will close up if handled. This specimen was encountered in Livingston county, KY.
